Laurie spent many years as a principal consultant/trainer with the National Safety Council of Australia (NSCA) and workplace health and safety coordinator for the Catholic Diocese of Cairns before returning to NSCA as Manager for the North Queensland and PNG.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The website showcases a selection of the country&amp;rsquo;s best Indigenous experiences &amp;ndash; including accommodation, attractions, tours, festivals and art centres. It also includes a directory profiling the current members of the Indigenous Tourism Champions Program (ITCP), a select group of Indigenous tourism suppliers satisfying stringent criteria to meet the needs of global trade and consumers.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Aden Ridgeway, Chairman of Tourism Australia&amp;rsquo;s Indigenous Tourism Advisory Panel believes the new website will provide an invaluable resource for the trade, helping operators plan and book Indigenous tourism experiences, and add value to their Australian itineraries.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;ldquo;There is considerable enthusiasm for participating in Indigenous experiences, offering the opportunity to gain an insight into the world&amp;rsquo;s oldest continuing culture. &lt;p&gt;Shane Edwards is the General Manager of the Mercure Cairns Harbourside and Indigenous Champion for Accor Hotels in Queensland. While his role includes operation of the Mercure he provides a link between Accor and the people of Cape York and the Torres Strait in one of Australia&amp;rsquo;s largest Tourism hotspots.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Originally born in New Zealand from the Ngati Porou tribe on the East Coast, Shane has settled into his adopted country of Australia where he now resides having worked in Sydney, Melbourne, Kings Canyon, Sunshine Coast, Broome, Adelaide and more recently Cairns.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Accor believes the position and influence of the tourism sector gives it an unsurpassed opportunity to take a leadership role in developing and nurturing life and work opportunities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.&lt;/p&gt;
